In this practice, we will target mostly connective tissues of the hips, pelvis and lower spine. On occasion, the teacher may also use props such as roll balls, bolsters, blocks and straps
Recommendations: wear warm clothing, and bring a blanket.
Yin postures are held for three to five minutes giving the body opportunity to open/release tension from deeper tissues allowing us to be still in meditation.
The practice works with our energetic body clearing blockages in meridians, increasing the flow of prana or chi and improving the health of our organs. Connective tissues, ligaments, tendons and bones all benefit greatly from this practice.
Yin Yoga is suitable for most levels of students. Please advise your teacher of any physical limitations.
