The Roll Model Hatha Yoga

This Hatha class will integrate the Roll Model® Method, developed by Jill Miller, to enhance our exploration of asana sequences with an emphasis on sound alignment. Each class will include guided self-massage using therapy balls to awaken muscles, loosen up adhesions, and restore slide and glide to your tissues. We will experiment with the use of props to fine-tune postural practice to your body. Join us to experience this profoundly transformational practice!

Kate MacDonald Kate Macdonald Bio I was first introduced to the practice of yoga as a teenager about 40 years ago. I was able to study Ashtanga Yoga with Marcia Solomon for 5 years, and deepen my understanding of this practice style through several intensives with Richard Freeman of the Yoga Workshop (Boulder, Colorado). I obtained my 200-hour Hatha Yoga Teacher Training in 2012 with Basia Going at Adishesha (Glebe), and completed a Chakra Yoga Teacher Training with Anodea Judith at PranaShanti in the spring of 2016 (Westboro). I have been involved in volunteer teaching at the Ottawa Carleton Detention Center, the Canterbury after-school program, Windrose Supportive Housing for Girls, the Ottawa Rape Crisis Centre, Saint Joseph’s Parish (Sandy Hill), and Franco-cité High School. I am passionate about sharing my understanding of the art of yoga with students at the Canterbury Community Centre!
