Restorative yoga is a passive, gentle style of yoga using props to support the body for longer holds. Restorative poses are usually held in lying down or seated postures using blankets, bolsters, straps and blocks. It is a relaxing form of yoga which may complement your active practice and/or lifestyle. As there is limited movement, an extra top layer of clothing is recommended. Please bring a light blanket or two(approx. 80″ x 20″) and, if you like,an eye mask/pillow.

|Paula Desjardins||Paula Desjardins, a resident of Alta Vista since 1995, found that yoga really helped her stay centered and calm when her son was born. She completed her 200 hour yoga teacher training at Pranashanti Yoga Centre and is enrolled in the YogaFit© teacher training program as well. She also enjoys taking a few minutes here and there to practice desk yoga while at work for the federal government. She is grateful to share her love of yoga with people at the Canterbury Community Centre where she has been teaching since 2012.|
