This is a comprehensive course that starts with the fundamentals of Karate and Self-Defense. Students will begin learning the basic tools and techniques required to defend themselves (stances, blocking, punching, striking and kicking as well as safe falling and rolling) which will then be applied to simple self-defense scenarios. As students progress they will learn more advanced techniques such as pressure points, throws, chokes, strangulations, ground work, as well as free sparring and apply them to more complex self-defense scenarios. Finally students are exposed to weapons such as the two foot canes, 6 foot long staff and defending against knife attacks to complete the comprehensive self-defense system.
