Chantelle McEwen has been the Dance Program Coordinator for the Canterbury Dance Centre for 8 years. She has over 15 years of experience teaching Tap, Jazz, Ballet and Lyrical at the recreational and competitive level. Chantelle received her training in the Durham Region successfully completing ADAPT (Tap and Jazz) and RAD (Ballet and Modern) examinations. She participated in a competitive training program for over 10 years and upon completion of her training moved to Ottawa and continued her love for dance through various performance opportunities (local Musical Theatre show and CFL performance team). Chantelle has achieved her MA Counselling Psychology and is passionate about sharing her knowledge of dance, promoting positive self-image and inspiring youth!
Â Nadine has spent many hours at the CCA dancing, her first class being tap at the age of three. Over the years she has taken hip hop, jazz, tap, contemporary, acro and ballet as well as competitive classes. Nadine continued her practice over the summers at the Stouffville Academy of Music and Dance. This is Nadine’s third year teaching at the pre-junior/junior jazz and tots & toes levels and first year as a competitive instructor. Studying biomedical sciences at the University of Ottawa, Nadine dances every spare moment and is very excited to spend another year sharing her love of dance with the little ones
Libby has been teaching at theÂ Canterbury Dance Centre since 2009. She is a choreographer and dancer for the Ottawa entertainment company Toptyr Productions. She was with the dance company DRIVEN Dance Ottawa for 6 years competing and performing all around Canada. She graduated from the University of Ottawa with a double Major in Psychology and Anthropology. She trains and choreographs for the University of Ottawa GeeGees Dance Team and was a member of their team for 5 years. Libby received her formal technical training in Ottawa at Greta Leeming Studio of Dance where she completed many levels of RAD and ADAPT syllabuses as well as competed and won many awards. She is an accomplished Hip Hop, Jazz, Ballet, Contemporary and Lyrical dancer. Libby eats sleeps and breaths dance. She attends as many workshops as she can that run in Ottawa and Montreal. Libby has been in several music videos, performed with international singer Mohombi, performed for top DJ’s at the Escapade Music Festival and performs regularly at many events in Ottawa, Gatineau and Canada. Libby might be little, but her enthusiasm makes her presence very large!
Amy has been dancing since the age of 5 and competing since the age of 6. Â She received training in the ADAPT and RAD syllabus as well as the Cecchetti method. She has won numerous overalls and regional titles and recently graduated from the dance program at Canterbury High School with Honors and a Distinction in dance. Â Amy has been teaching dance for the last 3 years. Â She teaches jazz, tap, ballet, and contemporary and is thrilled to share her love of dance with her new students.
Amanda has had a love of dance for most of her life, starting at the age of 5. A student of the Canterbury Dance Center herself, Amanda went on to study at Canterbury High School in both Modern and Ballet disciplines, graduating with distinction. After graduation, Amanda became one of the founding members of the Carleton Dance Pak, which has now completed its 6th season. She has 4 years teaching experience with CDC, and looks forward to coming back to teach Tots & Toes, Ballet 1 and Ballet 2. Ballet has always been a passion for Amanda, and she looks forward to sharing her love of movement and expression with her students on Saturday mornings!
