Our Instructors


Chantelle McEwen has been the Dance Program Coordinator for the Canterbury Dance Centre for 8 years. She has over 15 years of experience teaching Tap, Jazz, Ballet and Lyrical at the recreational and competitive level. Chantelle received her training in the Durham Region successfully completing ADAPT (Tap and Jazz) and RAD (Ballet and Modern) examinations. She participated in a competitive training program for over 10 years and upon completion of her training moved to Ottawa and continued her love for dance through various performance opportunities (local Musical Theatre show and CFL performance team). Chantelle has achieved her MA Counselling Psychology and is passionate about sharing her knowledge of dance, promoting positive self-image and inspiring youth!


Robyn Cross is 19 years old and has been dancing since she was very little. She started dancing at Academy of Dance Arts in Orleans, when she was 6 and began taking dance exams at age 12. She transferred to Cumbrae School of Dance, in Orleans, and continued to dance recreationally and complete dance exams.  She then moved to KaliAndrews Dance Company, where she danced competitively and completed multiple dance exams including two BATD professional exams; Associate Jazz and Associate Ballet in summer of 2014 giving her a teaching license. She hopes to complete her Membership exams in Ballet and Jazz in 2017 which will give her higher certification. Her favourite style of dance was Ballet; Pointe when she was competing, however, had an overall love for jazz, ballet and contemporary. On top of her studio dance she also attended Canterbury High School where she was a part of the dance program, completing all four years to receive her arts certificate. She now teaches Jazz, Ballet and Lyrical/Contemporary dance at KaliAndrews Dance Company, Minto Skating Club and The Canterbury Dance Centre as well as attends Carleton University in the Psychology Honours program.


Jenny is a third year student in the Health Sciences program at the University of Ottawa. She trained competitively at Greta Leeming Studio of Dance in ballet, tap, jazz, and contemporary, completing the RAD Graded Syllabus and receiving her RAD Advanced 1 with Distinction, graduating in 2012. She attended the Royal Winnipeg’s Summer School in 2009, and in 2011 performed in the Kirov Ballet’s “La Bayadere” at the NAC. She was a member of the Canterbury Dance Company (2011-2012), the Connect Dance Company by Claire Berry (2013-2014), and the UOttawa GeeGees dance team (2014-2015). Joining the Canterbury Dance Centre in 2014, she hopes to continue her love for teaching dance for many more years to come!


 Nadine has spent many hours at the CCA dancing, her first class being tap at the age of three. Over the years she has taken hip hop, jazz, tap, contemporary, acro and ballet as well as competitive classes. Nadine continued her practice over the summers at the Stouffville Academy of Music and Dance. This is Nadine’s third year teaching at the pre-junior/junior jazz and tots & toes levels and first year as a competitive instructor. Studying biomedical sciences at the University of Ottawa, Nadine dances every spare moment and is very excited to spend another year sharing her love of dance with the little ones


Stephanie Diguer trained with the Canterbury Dance Centre for over 10 years at the recreational and competitive level. She was a teacher’s assistant in Tap and Tots & Toes for many dance seasons and continues to share her knowledge and love for dance! Stephanie is a 1st year interior design student at Algonquin College. She is passionate about photography and the arts, striving to challenge herself in all endeavours.


Libby has been teaching at the Canterbury Dance Centre since 2009. She is a choreographer and dancer for the Ottawa entertainment company Toptyr Productions. She was with the dance company DRIVEN Dance Ottawa for 6 years competing and performing all around Canada. She graduated from the University of Ottawa with a double Major in Psychology and Anthropology. She trains and choreographs for the University of Ottawa GeeGees Dance Team and was a member of their team for 5 years. Libby received her formal technical training in Ottawa at Greta Leeming Studio of Dance where she completed many levels of RAD and ADAPT syllabuses as well as competed and won many awards. She is an accomplished Hip Hop, Jazz, Ballet, Contemporary and Lyrical dancer. Libby eats sleeps and breaths dance. She attends as many workshops as she can that run in Ottawa and Montreal. Libby has been in several music videos, performed with international singer Mohombi, performed for top DJ’s at the Escapade Music Festival and performs regularly at many events in Ottawa, Gatineau and Canada. Libby might be little, but her enthusiasm makes her presence very large!
